Description
Ramachandrans daughter and son loved this story when he first told it to them, and they wanted to hear it again and again. Like the lion of Androcles and the Lion, the tiger cub saved from fire by Dakiya, the mailman, never forgot him even after many years when he had grown into a huge tiger and Dakiya had become an old man. The introduction of pictorial representations of birds like parrots and peacocks and animals like deer, foxes, bison, boars and elephants enliven the illustrations.
The pictures are done using paper cuts to produce the effect of Indian woodblock printing. The book was done in the late 1990s.
